We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Subject Matter Expert (SME) with extensive knowledge of Liquibase and Jenkins Pipelines to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing and streamlining our software development and deployment processes, ensuring seamless, efficient, and reliable delivery of software applications.
Responsibilities
- • Able to cope with hybrid way of working - 2 days/week from client's office in London
CI/CD Integration:
•Integrate Liquibase into the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline to automate database schema updates.
•Work closely with the DevOps team to ensure Liquibase is synchronized with code changes in applications.
Liquibase Expertise:
•Create and manage Liquibase scripts for database schema changes.
•Develop and maintain scripts for data migration, rollback, and version control.
•Utilize in-depth knowledge of Liquibase to manage database schema changes efficiently.
•Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot database change scripts.
•Ensure database version control and synchronization with application code.
•Collaborate with developers and DBAs to implement and deploy database changes seamlessly.
Database Schema Versioning:
•Develop and maintain strategies for versioning database schemas and managing database migrations.
•Collaborate with developers and database administrators to ensure that schema changes are tracked and applied consistently.
Jenkins Pipeline Management:
•Design, implement, and manage Jenkins Pipelines for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
•Automate build, test, and deployment processes to enhance the software development lifecycle.
•Troubleshoot and optimize Jenkins Pipelines to minimize downtime and increase deployment speed.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
•Apply IaC principles to automate and maintain infrastructure provisioning.
•Collaborate with infrastructure and release management teams.
•Knowledge of Containerization and Orchestration technologies such as OpenShift.
Version Control and Git Workflow:
•Implement and maintain effective Git workflows to manage source code efficiently.
•Collaborate with development teams to ensure version control best practices are followed.
Document processes, best practices, and standard operating procedures.
•Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members to promote DevOps practices.
Skills
Must have
- •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
•Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on Liquibase and Jenkins Pipelines.
•Strong knowledge of database management, especially Liquibase.
•Strong Oracle database knowledge and experience.
•Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline development and management using Jenkins.
•Experience with Git, version control workflows, and branching strategies.
•Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
•Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python).
•Knowledge of infrastructure as code.
•Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
•Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g. GCP, Docker, OpenShift, Jenkins) are a plus.
