Job Description
Join the Technology Procurement team as a Contract Manager to support the Heathrow Technology team with both project and support contract sourcing, post-Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management activity.
As the Contact Manager, you will work closely with business stakeholders to create and execute short and long-term sourcing strategies. You shape procurement approaches for varied sourcing activities and lead the contracting with our supply-chain to maximise value and minimise risk.

Working Location
Our agile approach offers the opportunity to combine home working with meetings, events and training at the airport. All roles involve some on-site working each week, so you'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.

As the Contact Manager, you will work closely with business stakeholders to create and execute short and long-term sourcing strategies. You shape procurement approaches for varied sourcing activities and lead the contracting with our supply-chain to maximise value and minimise risk.
Responsibilities
Working in Heathrow's fast-paced and regulated environment managing multiple procurement projects, you'll support on activities that involve:
- Leading and influencing strategic and tactical sourcing activities technology projects that deliver new solutions for the airport or upgrades and enhancements to solutions.
- Constructively challenging business plans and strategy documents to ensure robustness of approach that maximises commercial opportunity and mitigates risk.
- Managing contracts and supplier relationships to maximise commercial and contractual benefit.
- Supporting and maintaining all necessary agreed processes for supplier management, claims management, benefits and savings and continuous improvement targets whilst meeting all contract, regulatory, risk-reward and exit strategy requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with Procurement activities, defining and creating procurement approaches to deliver stakeholder outcomes, and experience of using a variety of Procurement and Contracting models, using a range of reimbursement/pricing models.
- Experience of delivering procurement activities and outputs, that support business outcomes.
- Clear understanding of contract terms and conditions and the ability to negotiate them.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with advanced partnering, influencing and negotiation skills to build strong relationships; highly customer focused with the ability to understand the needs of complex stakeholders.
- Proven ability to interpret financial data and apply to decision making, excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organisation, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Ideally, you'll also have:
- Ideally a professional qualification of commercial or legal bias or able to demonstrate equivalent capability coupled with experience in procurement roles.
- Working towards professional qualification e.g. CIPS or equivalent, or willingness to commit to pursuing.
- Experience of working in an integrated project team involving supplier partnering organisations, and experience of working in a matrix organisation.
