Job Title: Software Development Manager (GIS)
Salary: £71,500 - £82,225 (Inclusive of a Non-Pensionable and Non-Consolidated Allowance) & Excellent Benefits

Location: Pier Walk, North Greenwich & Remote Working
Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.
Come and lead the software development in Technology Development
Opportunity to lead the GIS team in Corporate Application Development. Working in the Technology Development team in Technology & Data, you can work on our business-critical systems such as Asset management systems, PlayBook and Londonworks.
You'll influence the lives of TfL business users
Join us, and you could be responsible for leading the development of corporate systems in a fast-paced, agile environment. You'll lead one or more teams of skilled software developers using latest Agile practices including Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery to deliver software that's used by TfL business every day.
You'll have the opportunity to work with your peers to ensure that TfL is using the right technologies and you'll be responsible for managing and mentoring up to 10 other developers.
You'll be involved in activities such as Refinement, Sprint Planning, Estimates, Retrospectives, Demos, and the Daily Scrum. You'll also lead teams to investigate and resolve production application support issues.
To be successful, you'll be proficient in GIS software development using ESRI and Python, with proven experience of working on large software delivery in an agile environment.

You're passionate about clean code and modern architecture design and have a production-first DevOps attitude. You have an excellent knowledge of Agile delivery, Ordnance Survey datasets, Python, ArcGIS Desktop and Server-Side Products, FME, Oracle DB, SQL Server, Azure DevOps and Azure services.
You must have experience leading, managing and recruiting Software Developers. And, if you can bring excellent communication skills and a flair for analysing complex systems and coming up with effective solutions to problems, you're someone we'd like to talk to.
