Job Title: IT Technician
Full-time: (37 hours per week)
Grade 3, Scale Point 9-2: £23,194 to £29,439
Job Purpose:
Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the network system, ensuring the efficient operation of all computers, and managing associated equipment within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Senior Management to ensure seamless support for the educational program through the IT Network.
Maintain the ongoing requirements of academic and administrative networks.
Keep a comprehensive database of devices for auditing purposes.
Support the expansion and development of the organization's cloud network.
Collaborate with IT Services staff to facilitate training on IT equipment for teaching and support staff, enabling students to maximize the use of available technology for enhanced learning.
Provide technical classroom support to school staff, both before, after, or during lessons, to augment student learning.
Deliver telephone, email, and remote support.
Provide scheduled and reactive onsite support.
Monitor and address issues logged on the IT Services Helpdesk within agreed SLAs, providing effective solutions.
Install and maintain IT hardware, including IP telephony and security systems.
Install network cabling as required (copper and fibre).
Coordinate with external suppliers for equipment repair under warranty or maintenance contracts.
Ensure timely installation of software updates.
Keep workstations' operating systems up to date.
Ensure the installation, update, and proper functioning of Endpoint Protection on all workstations.
Uphold responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
Execute tasks with due regard to Health and Safety regulations.
Engage in appropriate professional development.
Adhere to the ethos of the IT Services team and the broader organization.
Promote the agreed vision and aims of the organization.
Set an example of personal integrity and professionalism.
Attend relevant meetings.
Fulfill any other duties commensurate with the grade to ensure the smooth running of the organization.Line Management:
The Technology Support Specialist will be under the line management of the Senior IT Operations Manager and is also responsible for providing reports and information to the Director of IT and Compliance.
