DevOps Engineer – Leeds Area – AWS & Linux Private Cloud, Kubernetes

I’m working with a successful organisation who turn over in excess of €1 billion a year, to recruit an experienced DevOps Engineer to join their growing backend software team. This will be a varied and challenging role that will include the design, build and optimisation of both public and private cloud platforms and using a containerised approach.

You will take a lead role on a new and exciting greenfield project to design and build a Linux private cloud and using a containerised approach with Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.

You will also work on AWS-based cloud solutions, Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and using CDK, ECS clusters and Lambdas to ensure high availability, scalability and security.

Responsibilities will include:

Play akey role in the creation of a Linux private cloud to support a new distributed software as a service platform.

·Design and implement AWS-based cloud solutions.

·Troubleshoot and monitoring cloud platforms.

·Manage cloud resources including cost optimization and performance.

·Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines.

To be considered you will require proven experience with many of the following:

·AWS Cloud Platforms

·Kubernetes and Docker

·Strong skills in building infrastructure using AWS CDK (preferably with TypeScript).

·Strong Linux skills.

·CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, CodeBuild or other similar tools.

·Automation scripting – Python.

·Excellent communication skills -verbal and written.

Any experience of the following would be desirable but is not essential:

·Azure or GCP, VMware or vSphere, Networking skills, PostgreSQL / SQL Server /MongoDB or DynamoDB, C# and Microserverices

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 + training budget + benefits

Location: Leeds / Wakefield area – Hybrid – 3 days a week in the office / 2 days from home
