We are looking for an IT Systems Administrator to join a leading software company based in Kendal. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and technically-minded individual with at least 5 years' experience in a technical support or infrastructure-focussed role.
The main responsibility of the role include managing, maintaining, and optimizing VMware virtualisation infrastructure, as well as ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the firms virtualised environments.

They offer training, private healthcare, a 10% pension and annual bonuses. They offer some flexibility with working arrangements, but this is a mostly office-based position so you must be able to commute to Kendal.
Salary £30-45k DOE + bonuses
Responsibilities:
Provide high-level support and technical assistance to end-users and IT teams.
Apply patches, updates, and security fixes to relevant infrastructure components.
Implement security policies and best practices for relevant environments. (ISO9001 and ISO27001)
Maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtual machines.
Assist with maintenance of virtual networking components, such as vSwitches and port groups. Create, configure, and manage virtual machines (VMs) and templates
Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise GNU/Linux servers.
Assist with SAN & TCPIP Network maintenance and troubleshooting
Analyse and interpret project requirements and functional specifications and ensure technical issues are resolved.
Skills Required:
Microsoft Windows Products including Active Directory, Group Policies and Office 365
VMware ESXi Virtualisation
Network design and support (layer 3 switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, layer 2 protocols, firewalls).
Fibre channel SAN network design with backend storage subsystems.
Azure cloud services
Red Hat Enterprise GNU/Linux server experience (any knowledge of Linux is highly desirable).
The working hours of the role are 8:00am - 4:00pm / 8:30am - 4:30pm / 9:00am - 5:00pm and there is occasional out of hours work required, which is planned well in advance and with notice.
